Born in 1949 in the picturesque
city of Malang, East Java, he fell in love with and studied painting at quite an early
age. Even during his architectural study in Germany, he was concurrently apprenticed to
Werener Freitag art-group in Hamburg. Hitherto, he has participated in more than 100
exhibitions and his previous artworks are owned by people from various countries. His love
for art and music are endless. he continuously lent his supports for the development of
art in his beloved country. On many occasions, he presided as a juror at painting
championships conducted by the Department of Culture and Education and at the well known
Taman Mini and even in various schools. He teached at the East Jakarta government art
centre. He is a member and participated in the Jakarta painters union. He is also a known
musician, he plays and leads in a local Keroncong orchestra and a group band. He was the
secretary of the Keroncong musicians association of Jakarta.
